Derek (Class of 2013)

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE shooting High School Senior Portraits, and although I love photographing all people, the Senior sessions are dear to me.  For so many reasons.....

One for which is I simply miss being a senior in High School!  (Not that I would choose to do it again..) But rather because seniors are So Young, Fresh and Free, and when I get the amazing opportunity to work with one, I am too, for a short time...  am 18 again.

Another reason is that I have yet to come into contact with senior who is not excited about what lies ahead.  I mean.. you can see all the wonder in their eyes...  and how they vow that this is going to be the best year by far!  And no doubt... it will be!  After all... Seniors Rock!!   I just love being surrounded by all this positive energy!

It's amazing how every individual I work with brings a completely different feel to the session.  That is why I explain that no two sessions are alike... "Why?" You ask... simply because no two people are alike.   (And how boring would it be if we were?)   It is my job to try to capture a person being who they are!  So my goal is not to get 'perfect" pictures... but rather  "real" pictures!     Real, beautiful (or handsome) portraits of real people!

On Friday, I had the opportunity to work with Derek, a member of Monadnock's class of 2013.   If I had to pick one word to describe Derek.. it would be.... laid back, cool, go with the flow kinda guy.  Okay okay.. that was more than one word...  but that is what I experienced with Derek.  He was just incredible to work with, and  I don't have to mention just how handsome he is... you will see for yourselves in a minute!

Derek's Plans for after graduation are to continue learning his father's skillful trade and apprenticing to be an electrician.  Derek has already been working hard for his father, so I'm sure he probably has a good start on his apprenticeship.   (Honestly.. I don't know too much about it... but I do know anyone who works with electricity is impressive!)

Enjoy Derek's Pictures!!
*Please note... Resolution is much better on Photographer's Website*

Thank you Derek!  Have a Great Senior Year!!!
